Kuwait Field Specialist Hospital, working in the Al -Mawasi area, southwest of the Gaza Strip, which includes one million Palestinians, announced the suspension of its scheduled surgeries and the contentment of life -saving operations due to the acute shortage of medicines and medical consumers.

The field hospital said in a statement yesterday, Saturday: “We declare – unfortunately – that we have to stop all scheduled surgeries, and to only perform life rescue operations,” the field hospital said in a statement yesterday.

The hospital attributed this step to the acute and continuous shortage of medicines and medical consumers, as well as the devices and equipment that have been exhausted over the past two years, in addition to the great disability in the basic medical supplies that include anesthesia medications, medical solutions, materials, sterilization supplies and necessary surgical tools.

He explained that this forced procedure comes in light of the war of genocide that has continued for nearly two years, and the continuous closure of the crossings for several months, which prevented the introduction of any medical supplies or supplies and medicines to the sector.

The hospital affirmed that since Israel resumed its collective annihilation in the Strip – last March 18 – he has not received any sufficient medical assistance to meet the increasing needs, despite repeated appeals, according to the statement.

He warned of the seriousness of this decision on thousands of wounded patients who will be deprived of receiving specific medical services, which would exacerbate the health and humanitarian tragedy in the southern sector, and threaten a comprehensive collapse of the health system, especially with the accumulation of the displaced and the high rates of complex injuries.

The hospital called on the concerned authorities and international organizations to immediately intervene to open humanitarian corridors to secure the arrival of the necessary medicines and medical supplies, and to help cover the hospital’s operational cost.

The Gaza Strip includes 8 field hospitals, which were created after the outbreak of the extermination, in order to provide emergency services, in light of the high number of injuries to the continuous Israeli shelling around the clock.

The establishment of these hospitals came in light of the deliberate Israeli army targeting the health system and medical facilities in the sector, as it was bombed, destroyed or removed from service about 38 hospitals, 96 health care centers and 197 ambulances, since October 7, 2023 until the beginning of September, according to a statement of the government media office.

For more than once, the Ministry of Health and international and human rights institutions have warned of a comprehensive collapse of the health system due to the attacks they are exposed to and the severe shortage of medicines, supplies and medical devices, and fuel for its main operator in light of the complete interruption of electricity.

Since last March, Israel has tightened its grip on the sector crossings in front of humanitarian, relief and medical aid, with the exception of allowing dozens of trucks to be stolen from local gangs operating under their cover, according to Palestinian government reports.

Since October 20, 2023, Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, which left 65 thousand and 174 martyrs and 166 thousand and 71 injured, most of them children and women, and the famine that has lost the lives of 440 Palestinians, including 147 children.
