Under the patronage and presence of His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Chamber, the activities of the Seventh Gulf Businesswomen’s Forum will be launched in Doha tomorrow, Wednesday, which is organized by the Union of Gulf Chambers in cooperation with the Qatar Chamber, with the support of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and in a strategic partnership from Qatar National Bank (QNB). The forum will last for two days at the Mandarin Oriental Musheireb Hotel.
The opening session of the forum will witness the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Abdullah Al-Rawas, President of the Federation of Gulf Chambers, and an elite group of Gulf economic figures, in addition to a large number of Gulf businesswomen and entrepreneurs.
His Excellency Mr. Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Secretary General of the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers, explained that the forum will witness, on its first day, the launch of the “Gulf Businesswomen Platform,” which is one of the Federation’s specific initiatives, as it aims to connect businesswomen in the GCC countries within a unified interactive system that contributes to exchanging experiences and expanding the investment base of Gulf women, in addition to creating new partnership opportunities based on the concepts of green economy and sustainability.
Al Sharqi stressed that the launch of the platform represents a strategic step towards empowering Gulf women in the private sector, by providing an integrated digital environment that enhances communication and cooperation between female entrepreneurs, and enables them to expand their presence in the regional and global investment map.
On its second day, the forum’s program includes a series of dialogue sessions that discuss vital issues. The forum devoted a working session entitled “Gulf Businesswomen and Sustainable Investment,” which reviews the reality of Gulf women’s investment and the prospects for its development. There will be another session entitled “Women Entrepreneurs in the Gulf: From Traditionalism to Innovation,” dedicated to discussing ways to empower women in the digital economy and adopting innovative business models, in addition to a final session entitled “Arbitration in Strengthening the Gulf Women’s Business Environment,” which addresses the role of arbitration in protecting the investments of Gulf businesswomen.
The Secretary-General of the Federation of Gulf Chambers stated that the quality of the topics presented reflects the positive shift in the thought of Gulf women’s entrepreneurship, and their transition from traditional models to more innovative and sustainable projects, stressing that the forum represents an extension of the Union’s efforts to build an integrated Gulf business environment that encourages leadership, innovation, and economic integration among women business owners in the GCC countries.
The forum is expected to issue a number of recommendations aimed at supporting Gulf cooperation in the field of empowering women business owners and enhancing their contribution to sustainable economic development in the GCC countries. For her part, Mrs. Ibtihaj Al-Ahmadani, member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Chamber and Chairman of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum, said that we look forward, through the seventh edition of the Forum, to strengthening the bonds of cooperation between businesswomen in the Arab Gulf countries, and to encouraging more cooperation, partnerships and joint initiatives, in a way that contributes to the economic empowerment of women and supports the development process in our Gulf region.
Mrs. Al-Ahmadani indicated that the forum will witness a review of success stories of Gulf businesswomen who were able to overcome challenges and were able to establish their own projects through perseverance, effort and determination, as all participants will have an opportunity to learn about these successful experiences and emulate them.
