Manchester City will begin their defence of their Premier League title against Chelsea tomorrow, Sunday, at Stamford Bridge, in the top match of the first round of the competition, as part of the new 2024-2025 season.
Manchester City, the title holder for the last four seasons, enters the match with high morale, after starting the season by winning the Community Shield against Manchester United on penalties (7-6), and the team hopes to continue its journey to defend its title.
City played (4) friendly matches in its preparatory season, during which it defeated Chelsea (4-2), and lost to Barcelona, Milan and Celtic.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are looking to make a good start to the league this season, despite the difficulty of the match against the title holder, as they aspire to win their first official match after signing players such as winger Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton, and midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury from Leicester City, during the summer transfer period.
Before the start of the English Premier League, Chelsea played (6) friendly matches, in which it managed to win against the American club, while it tied with Wrexham and Inter Milan, and lost to Real Madrid, Celtic and Manchester City.
