Meta has made it possible to download its new model for artificial intelligence, Muse Spark Open, in cooperation with Apple, which has configured it to run on its Mac Studio desktop devices, allowing developers to run it directly on their devices without relying on cloud services for every process. According to the company, the model can be used in programming, software development, and running artificial intelligence systems capable of performing multiple tasks independently, and it can handle context of up to one million symbols.
Running the model requires the use of two Mac Studio devices, each with a memory capacity of 512 GB, bringing the total capacity to one terabyte. Developers can modify the model according to their needs, within specific license terms. Meta allowed the model to be downloaded via specialized technical platforms, and it can also be run via platforms that provide artificial intelligence services to developers, and is subject to a license that allows it to be used for free according to specific conditions.
This cooperation comes within the framework of Apple’s efforts to enhance the capabilities of its devices in the field of artificial intelligence, through cooperation with companies developing advanced models, with the aim of providing new features and increasing demand for its products. Apple CEO John Ternos said: “It’s amazing to run a Muse SparkOpen model and scale it so efficiently, directly from the office, adding that Mac Studio continues to push the boundaries of the capabilities of artificial intelligence running on devices.”
