Microsoft has added a new AI feature to its Bing search engine.
The feature, called Bing Generative Search, shows a snapshot of the information about the query being searched. AI can understand the search query contextually and then process millions of information sources to match the right content. It then uses the data to generate relevant search results.
The company explained, in a statement, that the new feature is currently being rolled out to a small percentage of queries, expressing its aspiration to share an early look at its new generative search experience, which is currently being shipped to a small percentage of user queries.
The statement indicated that this feature is an extension of the company’s AI-powered chat answers on Bing, which were released in February 2023, stressing that the new feature was built using large and small language models (SLMs) and (LLMs).
