Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca announced today the signing of Brazilian player Renan Viana, coming from Atletico Paranaense.

The Moroccan club stated, via its official account on the /X/ platform today, Friday, that the joining of Viana, who is 21 years old, comes within the framework of the club’s efforts to strengthen the ranks of the first football team.

The club did not disclose the details of the deal or the duration of the contract with the Brazilian striker.

Viana is the third Brazilian player to be signed by Wydad in the summer transfer window, after his compatriots Arthur, the playmaker for Fluminense, and Pedrinho, the Corinthians player, who played his first match with the team last week against Moghreb Tétouan in the Moroccan League for the 2024-2025 season.

Wydad’s squad this season witnessed major changes, under the leadership of South African coach Rulani Mokwena.

Wydad, who won three local league titles in the last four seasons, is ranked eighth in the Moroccan league with 3 points.
