The Turkish club Fenerbahce announced the signing of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho to take over the technical management of the team starting next season. The club published a video clip on its official account on the X platform, in which Mourinho appeared sending a message to the team’s fans, saying: “Hello, Fenerbahce fans, I will see you tomorrow in Kadikoy, and let’s start our day together.”
The Turkish club has not yet revealed any details related to the new contract with the Portuguese coach, but media reports stated that club president Ali Koc offered Mourinho a two-year contract with the possibility of renewing for a third year.
Fenerbahce has not won the Turkish league for 10 years, and last season finished runner-up to champion Galatasaray.
Italian Roma was the last team coached by Mourinho, with whom he won the European Conference League in 2022, and reached the European League final in 2023, before losing to Spanish Sevilla.
