His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed El -Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and His Excellency Mr. Tasus Khadzifasilio, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Greece, chaired the work of the first session of the Qatar -Greek Committee for the Economic and Technical Cooperation, which was held in Doha yesterday.
Representatives of a number of government agencies, including the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Municipal, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in addition to the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), the Investment Promotion Agency, the Qatar Investment Agency, the Qatar Central Bank, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Qatar Airways Group, the Free Zones Chamber and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the committee’s meetings, cooperation in various sectors of common concern was reviewed, and ways of developing and strengthening them to serve mutual interests.
In his opening speech, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed El -Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, stressed the strength of relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Greece, noting that the relations between the two countries have witnessed a remarkable development in recent years.
His Excellency stressed the importance of the joint committee as a practical platform to discuss future cooperation opportunities in priority sectors in a way that keeps pace with the ambition of the two countries in achieving sustainable development and economic prosperity.
His Excellency called on Greek investors and companies to take advantage of the promising opportunities provided by the Qatari market, stressing the commitment of the State of Qatar to support the paths of cooperation and joint work with partners in Greece to translate visions into concrete projects that contribute to enhancing growth and prosperity in both countries.
At the end of the committee’s work, the two sides expressed their aspiration to continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation at various levels, stressing that the outputs of this session will contribute to opening new horizons for the partnership between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Greece.
