Senior officials, global tourism experts and international tourism companies participating in the Qatar International Travel and Tourism Exhibition QTM 2024 praised the tourism renaissance that Qatar is currently witnessing. Officials in these companies confirmed that Qatar possesses the capabilities that qualify it to be a leading tourist destination in the region, and stressed that Qatar possesses the infrastructure. The necessary policy to occupy a distinguished position on the global tourism map.
On the other hand, the activities of the second day of the exhibition concluded with important discussion sessions that discussed various topics related to the future of travel and tourism. With the participation of more than 300 exhibitors and an exceptional turnout from a wide audience of industry professionals, QTM 2024 continues to consolidate Qatar’s position as a global tourism hub.
The activities of the second day, November 26, headed by Professor Joan Schroeder from Vancouver Island University and President of the World Leisure Organization, focused on the topic “Inventing the Future: Sustainability, Technology and Skills Development in Tourism.” A number of key sessions examined important topics including “Digital and Smart Tourism,” where experts discussed how artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and data-driven solutions are enhancing personalization and sustainability in travel experiences.
The topic “Skills and Education in Tourism” was also discussed, emphasizing the importance of improving skills and academic and industrial partnerships to meet the evolving industry requirements. Highlights on the day’s agenda will include: “The Intersection of Sports and Tourism,” where industry leaders will discuss how major sporting tournaments, events and fitness resorts are driving travel and economic growth; The topic “Cultural Sports Tourism in Doha” will also be discussed in a presentation of international sports sites and stadiums in Qatar, and their harmony with Qatari heritage and hospitality. In addition to discussing the topic “Medical Tourism and Well-Being,” experts will discuss the growing demand for travel and innovations focused on health and well-being in health services.
