Paris 2024 Olympics: Germany wins triathlon team relay gold, China’s Yuhong wins shooting gold

Germany won the gold medal today in the mixed team relay race in the triathlon competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The German team, consisting of two male and two female athletes, completed 12 swimming, cycling and running races in a time of 1 hour, 25 minutes and 39 seconds.

Champion Laura Lindemann gave Germany the gold medal after a thrilling start in the final metres of the race.

After resorting to video technology, the United States secured second place and won the silver medal, despite achieving the same time as the British team, which came in third place and won the bronze medal with a time of (1 hour, 25 minutes and 40 seconds).

This is the second time that the mixed team triathlon has been held at the Olympic Games, with Britain winning the last edition in Tokyo 2021.

In the shooting competitions, China’s Li Yuhong won the gold medal in the 25-meter rapid-fire pistol shooting competition.

Li Yuhong, the 2022 and 2023 world champion, topped the overall standings with 32 points.

Zhou Yongjie came in second with 25 points to win the silver medal, while another Chinese, Wang Xinjie, won the bronze with 23 points.

The 34-year-old Chinese champion won his third Olympic medal after two bronze medals in Tokyo 2021 and Rio de Janeiro 2016.
