Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.. Algerian Ibrahim Guendouz wins gold in kayak competition

Algerian Ibrahim Kanduz won the gold medal in the 200-meter KL3 kayak competition, after winning today the canoe race final held at the Paris Aquatic Stadium, as part of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Qandouz succeeded in winning first place with a time of 39 seconds and 91 hundredths of a second, outperforming the Australian, Dylan Littlehales, who won the silver medal with a time of 40 seconds and 68 hundredths of a second, while the bronze medal went to the Brazilian, Rodrigues Macias, after he came in third place with a time of 40 seconds and 75 hundredths of a second.

This is the first medal for Algeria, which is participating for the first time in canoeing in the Paralympic Games, bringing its tally to 6 gold medals and 5 bronze medals, placing it 22nd on the provisional medal table.

Continuing the Arab achievements in the Paralympic Games taking place in France, the Egyptian Mohamed Sobhi managed to win the silver medal in the 88 kg weightlifting competition.

Sobhi broke the Paralympic record after lifting 235 kg in his second attempt in today’s competitions, before breaking it again in his third attempt by lifting 242 kg.

Tunisian Raja Jebali also won the bronze medal in shot put, after achieving her best throw of 8.66m to snatch the bronze medal, behind Dutch Lara Baars, who won the gold medal with a time of (9.10m, a new Paralympic record), while Polish Renata Sliwinska won the silver medal with a time of (9m).

In the same competition, another Tunisian, Nourhan Belhaj Salem, won seventh place with a throw of 7.80m, bringing the total Tunisian participation to (9) medals, including (3) gold, (3) silver, and (3) bronze.
