Huawei and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) signed a strategic memorandum of understanding to enhance digital transformation in Qatar, on the sidelines of the Modern Construction and Services Technology Exhibition (Contec Expo 2024).
Under this cooperation, the two parties will work together to implement the latest innovative technological solutions to raise the efficiency of services and improve the quality of life for citizens and residents.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmed Al Muhannadi, President of the Public Works Authority, and Rico Lin, President of Huawei in the North Bay region. This strategic partnership represents an important step towards enhancing the digital operations of Ashghal, especially in developing the core capabilities to lead innovation in the projects sector in Qatar.
The collaboration between Huawei and Ashghal will focus on several key areas, most notably the development of smart cities and smart workplaces, which are essential elements of Qatar’s digital transformation journey. In addition, the MoU emphasizes talent development, with Huawei committed to providing customized training programs to enhance Ashghal employees’ skills in managing and implementing advanced digital systems. Huawei will also facilitate access to certification programs, ensuring that Ashghal’s technical teams are equipped with the expertise needed to lead the country’s digital transformation efforts.

Saad bin Ahmed Al Muhannadi, President of the Public Works Authority.
