Premature and newborn children in the Gaza Strip face deteriorating health conditions with increasing cases of shortness
For nearly two years.

In the Tahrir Hospital of the Nasser Medical Complex in the southern Gaza Strip, the nursery departments were crowded with dozens of infants, and the mothers and families of the lands of the land next to their children, while three infants sometimes have to share one bed to receive care.

The director of the hospital, Ahmed Al -Farra, told reporters that Gaza is going through a “harsh wave of pulmonary hostels and respiratory infections,” explaining that some children are placed directly on the ground because of the exhaustion of the beds, at a time when the oxygen is distributed according to the priority of cases as a result of scarcity.

He stressed that the lack of medical and overcrowding teams increases the possibility of respiratory infection between patients.

Al -Farra added that the numbers of premature births have increased significantly, due to the war conditions and health repercussions, and warning that a number of these children depend on artificial respirators due to the failure of their respiratory functions.

Since the start of the Israeli extermination war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the health sector in Gaza was exposed to great losses, as about 100 hospitals, clinics and primary care center, as well as targeting 200 ambulances, has been destroyed, according to the Ministry of Health.

Since last March, Israel has tightened its restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid, including medical and food supplies, which exacerbated the suffering of patients and children.

According to the data of the Ministry of Health, more than two million infectious diseases were recorded in addition to tens of thousands of cases in hepatitis, in light of the wide displacement and unhealthy living conditions.

International organizations, including the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, have warned of a complete collapse of the health system in Gaza if the war of genocide and the siege continue.
