Qatar Central Bank issues treasury bills worth 2.7 billion riyals

The Qatar Central Bank revealed in a publication on the “X” platform that it had issued treasury bills, worth 2.7 billion riyals, while the total number of private bids amounted to 11 billion riyals. The maturity periods for treasury bills varied to include 500 million riyals for 7 days with a return of 5.217%, 500 million riyals for 28 days with a return of 5.197%, and 500 million riyals for 91 days with a return of 5.037%, and the three issues are in addition to existing issues.

Treasury bills also include new issues worth 500 million riyals for a period of 192 days with a return of 4.85%, 500 million riyals for a period of 273 days with a return of 4.726%, and 200 million riyals for a period of 364 days with a return of 4.655%.
It is worth noting that treasury bills are a short-term government debt instrument. Treasury bills also have the shortest maturity period, which usually ranges from a few days to one year. Moreover, Treasury bills are usually sold at a low price. It is also widely considered a safe, low-risk investment.
