Qatar Chamber discussed with a delegation from the Government of the Indian state of Rajasthan ways of joint trade cooperation and the possibility of establishing alliances and joint projects.
A joint meeting between the Qatari and Indian sides, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Minister of Industry and Commerce in the state, and Mr. Mohammed bin Towar Al Kuwari, First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, reviewed the most prominent investment opportunities available in both countries.
In this regard, Mr. Mohammed bin Towar Al Kuwari said: Qatar and India have distinguished relations at all levels, and there has been a development in economic and trade relations between the two countries in the past few years, stressing the desire of Qatari business owners to learn about the investment opportunities available in India in general, and in the state of Rajasthan.
He pointed out that there are Qatari investments in the Indian state of Rajasthan, especially in the real estate and tourism sectors, and that the Qatar Chamber encourages Qatari investors to establish joint projects with the Indian side, calling on businessmen from the Indian side to invest in Qatar and benefit from the investment incentives, infrastructure and advanced legislation.
For his part, His Excellency Mr. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Minister of Industry and Commerce of Rajasthan, said that the business sectors in his country are interested in enhancing economic cooperation with the Qatari private sector, and that Rajasthan has a large number of sectors in which Qataris can invest, including real estate, tourism, renewable energy, information technology, entrepreneurship, and others.
He explained that Rajasthan is characterised by an abundance of solar energy projects, in addition to an abundance of land and real estate projects. It is also close to the capital, New Delhi, and has advanced transportation lines, in addition to being an important tourist destination in the country that offers investment opportunities in hospitality and hotels.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce of Rajasthan invited the Qatar Chamber and Qatari businessmen to visit Rajasthan to learn about the available investment opportunities, noting that the state welcomes Qatari investments and hopes to attract Qatari investors to establish projects there.
