Qatar Energy has signed a long-term agreement to supply the Japanese company Ineos, which works in the field of refining and petrochemicals, with up to 9 million tons of naphtha, to be supplied over a period of 10 years, starting from July 2024.
On this occasion, His Excellency Engineer Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Managing Director and CEO of Qatar Energy, said that this agreement builds on the foundations of our successful and long-term relationship with one of our important Japanese partners. We look forward to strengthening our partnership to create greater value and new opportunities for the mutual benefit of both parties.
It is noteworthy that this agreement is the largest and longest commitment reached during more than a decade of cooperation between the two sides.
Ineos Corporation is Japan’s largest refining and petrochemical company, and is wholly owned by Ineos Holdings. This institution has worked in the field of refining, manufacturing and selling petroleum products for more than 135 years, since its founding in 1888 under the name of the Japan Petroleum Company.
