Qatar participates in the meeting of finance ministers of the Gulf and Caucasus countries

The State of Qatar, in its capacity as President of the current session of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, represented by the Ministry of Finance, chaired the joint meeting of the finance ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Caucasus and Central Asian countries and central bank governors, on the sidelines of its participation in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, which are held during the period. From October 21 to 26, 2024 in Washington, DC, USA.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance, and His Excellency Mr. Jamshid Kucharov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, enhancing trade and financial cooperation between the two regions was discussed. The prevailing challenges impeding deeper economic cooperation were also identified and discussed, as well as policies and measures needed to facilitate trade and financial cooperation.
