Qatar receives more than 1.5 million visitors in the first quarter of 2025

Qatar Tourism revealed, today, the state received more than 1.5 million visitors during the first quarter of the year 2025, noting that the sector started this year with strong momentum, driven by an integrated tourism strategy that combines the organization of major events, establishing strategic partnerships, and providing various tourism experiences that meet the aspirations of various visitors.

She added in a statement, that visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries topped the scene by 36 percent, then visitors from Europe by 28 percent, then Asia and Oceania by 20 percent, noting that this reflects the growth of Qatar’s position as an attractive tourist destination at the regional and international markets level.

Qatar Tourism indicated that visitors’ arrival rates were distributed by air by 51 percent, 34 percent righteousness, and cruises 15 percent, highlighting the effectiveness of the various arrival strategy followed by Qatar.

She explained that Eid Al -Fitr for the year 2025 scored the highest tourist access rates during the holiday period in the past three years, with the arrival of 213,500 visitors during a period of eight days, an increase of 26 percent compared to 2024, noting that visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries formed 49 percent of the total number of visitors, registering an annual increase of 18 percent, while the hotel occupancy rate reached 77 percent, registered annual growth by a rate of 10 percent.

Qatar Tourism added that this growth was accompanied by a strong performance in various guesthouse sectors, where the average hotel occupancy reached 71 percent, while 2.6 million hotel nights were sold, which reflects a noticeable increase in demand driven by major activities such as the Qatar web summit, the Doha Jewelery and Watch Exhibition, and the Qatar International Food Festival.

For his part, His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Ali Al -Kharji, President of Qatar for Tourism and Chairman of the Visit QATAR Board of Directors said: “The achievements of the first quarter of 2025 reflect the strength of the long -term strategic approach that we follow in developing the tourism sector, by deepening cooperation at local, regional and international levels, where we continue to diversify the targeted markets, enhance visitors’ experiences, and consolidate Qatar’s position as a vital tourist destination throughout the year. ”
