Yesterday, at the AFC headquarters in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, the Asian Junior U -17 Championship qualifiers, which is hosted by Saudi Arabia, will be hosted from May 7 to May 24, 2026.
The qualifiers for the tournament are witnessing the participation of 38 teams, distributed to seven groups, three of which include six teams, and four groups that include five teams. The draw resulted in the occurrence of China, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Brunei Dar Al Salam, East Timor and Sri Lanka teams in the first group and the matches of this group are held in China. The second group included Yemen, Laos, Kyrgyzia, Cambodia, Jamel and Pakistan, and the matches of this group will be held in Kyrgyzia. The third group is played by Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, North Mariana and Macau, and its matches are held in Vietnam.
The Fourth Group includes Iran, India, Palestine, China Taipei and Lebanon, and its matches are held in India. The fifth group will compete in the teams of Australia, Iraq, Jordan, the Philippines and Batuan, and Jordan hosts the matches of this group.
While the sixth group included the teams of Thailand, Kuwait, Turkmenistan, Mongolia and Maldives, the matches are held in Thailand. The seventh group includes, along with Myanmar, which hosts the matches, both the teams of Oman, Afghanistan, Syria, and Nepal.
The teams participating in the qualifiers were distributed to six levels, based on the system of points derived from their final classification in the previous three versions of the finals.
The qualifiers will be held in the league system from one stage in a central gathering during the period from 22 to 30 November 2025.
He qualifies for the first -placed finals in each group, to join nine teams that have already guaranteed their qualification to the World Cup for Junior U -17 years 2025 in Qatar, namely: Qatar, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, the Democratic Republic of Korea, Japan, Tajikistan, UAE, and Indonesia.
