Fears related to 5.5 million citizens in South Africa have arisen anti -virus treatments, as financing these treatments became a question, after US President Donald Trump decided to suspend the work of the “President’s Emergency Plan of Relief from AIDS” (Pepfar).

It is noteworthy that the suspended plan is an American government initiative to combat HIV (AIDS), and to help save the lives of people with the disease.

The initiative was contributing more than $ 400 million annually to finance AIDS control programs and NGOs in South Africa, or about 17% of the total financing volume, according to the Ministry of Health data.

Globally, thanks to the “President’s Emergency Relief Plan” to save the lives of at least 26 million people since its launch in 2003, according to the United Nations Joint AIDS Program.
