Receiving 1.5 million visitors at the end of March .. “Qatar Tourism”: 36% of Qatar visitors in the first quarter of the Gulf

Qatar Tourism Statistics showed that the number of visitors to the State of Qatar by the end of the first quarter of the year 2025 recorded about one million and 503 thousand, including 546 thousand visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries by 36.3%. Statistics revealed that January recorded the arrival of 635 thousand visitors, while February recorded 517 thousand visitors, while March witnessed a decrease in the number of visitors to record 351 thousand visitors.

According to what was published on the official website of “Qatar Tourism”, the countries of the Cooperation Council ranked at the forefront of the list of countries exporting tourism to the State of Qatar by 546 thousand visitors by 36.3%, while the European continent came second with its registration, which is estimated at 419 thousand visitors at 27.9%, followed by the countries of Asia and Oceania in the third place by 20.3%of the number of visitors with 305 thousand visitors, and in the fourth place came to visitors From other Arab countries, about 108 thousand visitors, 7.2%, while the American countries replaced the fifth rank with a share of 6.3% of the number of visitors with 95 thousand visitors, and at the end of the list visitors came from African countries by 30 thousand visitors and a share of 2% of the total.
With regard to visitors according to the type of entry outlet, visitors were by air, the highest in the future, 51%, about 769 thousand of the total number of visitors, while visitors came by land, second place, with 34%, at 514 thousand visitors, and in the third rank visitors came by sea with 221 thousand visitors by 15%.
The State of Qatar has entertainment options and various tourism ingredients that meet all the interests and tastes, which makes it an ideal destination for voices, families and friends groups alike.
Innovative campaigns
In this context, Qatar Tourism launched a number of innovative campaigns to attract visitors from the Gulf states, targeting the strengthening of Qatar as a distinguished tourist destination in the region, the most prominent of which is:
-“Qatar on Hawak”: During the month of November, Qatar launched the “Qatar on Hawak” campaign to encourage travelers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to explore the Qatari tourist offers during the winter season, with a focus on providing distinguished family experiences. ​
-Hala Balhaf Al -Ghali »: During the month of Ramadan, Visit QATAR launched a campaign” Hala Balf Al -Ghaly “to attract visitors from the Gulf states, providing an exceptional Ramadan experience in Qatar. ​
– The short stopping campaign: Visit QATAR launched a new version of its campaign for temporary stopping trips in Qatar, “a day of memories that lasts”, through which it calls on passenger passengers to convert one vacation into two holidays through the temporary pause in Qatar.
The campaign highlighted a group of the most diverse attractions and tourism experiences that can be enjoyed in Qatar during a short visit not exceeding 24 hours. The campaign aims to enhance Qatar’s position as a leading destination for temporary stopping trips and highlight all the moments that are worth stopping in Qatar, and to prove that one short visit can make the most unforgettable age memories.

Standard performance in marine tourism
The maritime tourism sector in Qatar continued its standard performance during the 2025/2024 season, with the reception of 396 thousand and 265 visitors in the old port of Doha through 87 cruises, achieving an increase of 5% in the number of visitors and 19% in the number of trips compared to the previous season, which confirms the continuous growth and increasing demand for marine flights to Doha.
The season witnessed a remarkable diversity in the international maritime lines in the port, in addition to a remarkable increase in the number of luxurious tourist ships that chose Doha Port as a major port within its flights in the Arab Gulf region, which reflects the confidence of international companies in the advanced infrastructure and integrated services provided by the port.
The season witnessed prominent global tourist ships, including: “Main Chef 4”, “MSC Yoria”, “Aida Barima”, “Costa Izmirda” and “Celstel Jerney”, and also recorded visits to 5 tourist ships for the first time to Qatar, which indicates the expansion of international cruise networks and increased its interest in including Doha to its seasonal paths.
Qatar Tourism aims to make the country one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the Middle East, increasing the contribution of the tourism sector to GDP to 12%, doubled internal spending in tourism from three to four times, and attracting six million visitors annually by 2030.
