Researchers in the United States have confirmed that reducing the size of the meals a person eats each day is the main key to losing weight in general.

According to the US National Laboratory for Medical Research, reducing meals by 500 calories per day is a good start to losing weight by one pound per week (450 grams).

The Harvard Health Foundation for Health Studies says that one of the easy mathematical equations to measure the number of calories that should be eaten daily is “the product of multiplying weight by 15,” and the result represents the number of calories that should be eaten daily to maintain weight.

Then the person is required to eat fewer calories daily than he needs, which will lead to weight loss.

Samantha Heller, a nutrition expert at New York University’s Langone Health Institute, says that counting calories in itself is not enough to lose weight.

She explained, “Everyone wants quick solutions to lose weight, but that does not happen overnight. Weight gain or loss does not happen quickly.”

In statements to the “Health Day” website, which specializes in medical studies, Heller advises the necessity of following specialized programs in nutrition and weight loss or visiting nutrition specialists to achieve the desired results.

She added, “But the most important thing is to be healthy, not thin, and for each person to find the sustainable lifestyle that suits him.”
