Today, the Russian state corporation Rostec announced the development of new electronic equipment that will help improve the performance of satellites dedicated to communications services.

According to a statement issued by the foundation: “Experts have managed to develop new wave lamps, which are used to enhance the signal strength of promising Russian Express-RV satellites.”

“The new high-efficiency wavelength lamps will be part of the equipment that will be used in modern Russian communications satellites,” the statement added.

The company indicated that these lamps differ from their predecessors in their small dimensions and light weight, as each lamp weighs less than 1.2 kg, and its expected service life reaches 150 thousand hours.

It is worth noting that wave lamps are one of the main elements used in satellites, and they increase the signal strength of satellites at very high rates. The Roscosmos Agency had previously stated that the new Russian Express-RV satellite constellation will include 4 satellites, and will operate in elliptical orbits around the Earth, and their expected lifespan in space is approximately ten years.
