Le Monde newspaper said that a group of scientists, including prominent personalities and a Nobel Prize, gave a global invitation to discuss the potential risks of research experiences related to mirror bacteria for what could be irreplaceable or without control of the risk of eliminating life on earth.
This invitation – according to a prolonged investigation in the newspaper prepared by Nataniel Herzburg and David Larroseri – comes after the acceleration of scientific progress in the field of microorganisms capable of eliminating life if it is developed, which raised fears that it can be irreversibly used.

Scientists warn of terrifying scenarios if this technology is out of control, because mirror bacteria, if released in the environment, may be able to overcome human and animal systems, and therefore may cause the collapse of the ecosystem, and that current drugs and antibiotics will not be able to deal with new mirror organisms, scientists say that these organisms may lead to a global crisis that goes beyond Imagination.
A promising scientific field, however
Although scientists admit that research in this field may lead to revolutionary medical discoveries, such as improving the effectiveness of medicines, they are calling for strict restrictions on experiments aimed at creating organisms capable of self -reproduction, and they call for global discussion that includes researchers, decision makers and international institutions to develop a moral and legal framework for this technology.
The first international conference is expected to discuss this issue next June at the “Pasteur Institute” in Paris with the participation of scientists, politicians and legal experts, and will be followed by two other conferences in Manchester and Singapore, in order to reach a global agreement on how to monitor and direct these research, and prevent their use in a way that may lead to disasters.
The newspaper concluded that mirror bacteria, although they represent a promising scientific field to understand the origins of life and the development of medicines, may put humanity at the same time in front of an existential threat that has not been unprecedented, and therefore the only choice for the scientific community is to move with wisdom and organization to confront the future with caution before this technology becomes a weapon against humanity.
