It didn’t take me long to adapt, and the Qatari people are wonderful
Our fans are the best in the league and their presence is a great motivation
In Al Rayyan, I found the passion, ambition, and calmness I was looking for
In the Stars League, the majority compete for the title, and I will return to the stadiums soon
Serbian Aleksandar Mitrovic, Al Rayyan player, confirmed that the Doha Bank Stars League is a more competitive league than the Saudi League, in which he played for Al Hilal before joining Al Raheeb Al Rayani this season in a strong deal.
The player said in statements to Al Kass channels: “The Qatari league is very strong, more balanced, and more exciting for me because there are 6, 7, and perhaps 8 teams before the league that want to win the title, and even 10 clubs. For example, Qatar Club last season was at the bottom of the standings, but this season it is competing for first place with a new coach, and the level of the league is more equal, and all the teams have distinguished players, so it is exciting to play here because everyone wants to be crowned and everyone plays with a certain mentality, but playing is just for the sake of playing.” I believe that the gap in Saudi Arabia is slightly larger because there are 5 teams playing for the title, while the rest of the teams are competing to perform well.”
Regarding his return to the field in light of the injury he suffered, he said, “I feel fine, in excellent condition, and in the recovery phase. I am working hard to come back stronger. I am currently in the rehabilitation phase and so far everything is fine. I feel that I am getting stronger day by day and I hope to return to the field soon.”
He continued, saying, “Adaptation is going in a wonderful way in the club, with the players, the coach, and the fans, and everyone welcomed me in an amazing way. I did not need a long time to adapt, and the weather here is a little different from Riyadh, especially in the humidity, but the football here is good, and there are distinguished players, many talents, and several names who played for big European teams. The talent is many, the facilities are excellent, the club is large, with different ambitions, and includes wonderful people. You feel like you are among your family.”
He continued, saying, “The facilities here are wonderful, and I knew about this because the stadiums are special and were built for the World Cup, and their training fields are very special. The people here in Qatar, whether in the club or in Qatar in general, are kind, calm, and hospitable, and life is much calmer.”
Regarding the reason for his move to Al-Raheeb, he said, “I liked many things, but what I liked most was that I came to try to win titles and enjoy football, and some of the great players played here, but I think that the club was not lucky during the past years and lost some titles due to lack of luck. Also, one of the reasons that made me come here is that I felt that everyone in the club is impatiently waiting for the return of titles, and every year the club takes a step forward and develops more, and I hope that we will all succeed in winning the title and putting an end to the lean years.”
The player sent a message to Al Rayyan fans, saying, “Al Rayyan fans are among the best fans in Qatar, and my message to them is a big thank you. We need your support, and we need your presence in abundance in every match, because the greater your presence, the easier it is for us to play.”
