Today, the Spanish club Barcelona announced the absence of its Danish player Andreas Christensen from participating in the first football team’s training and matches due to injury, explaining that his return to participation is now dependent on the progress of his health condition, before the team plays its match against Rayo Vallecano in the third round of the Spanish League.
Barcelona said in a statement via the X platform that Christensen, 28, is suffering from inflammation in his left Achilles tendon.
Andreas Christensen was injured during the team’s training session ahead of the match against Athletic Bilbao.
Christensen participated with Barcelona in (75) matches in all competitions, scoring (4) goals and (3) assists, since moving to the Spanish team in 2022, in a free transfer deal, and is linked to it with a contract that extends until 2026.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona defeated Valencia (2-1) at the start of its journey in the league this season 2024-2025.
