The “Tiktok Notes” video sharing application was stopped on May 8, after testing it in some countries, such as Canada, Australia and Vietnam during the past year.
The company explained that it started to inform the users of the application of this decision, and also invited them to use the “Lemon8” application owned by the Chinese Internet company “Payne Dance”.
In her notification of users, Tene -tuk indicated that the closure decision was not easy, calling on them to download and keep their data, and to continue to publish their creations through the Lemon8 application, which she described as “an application that provides a similar experience for Tiktok Notes but with additional benefits.” It is noteworthy that the application “Lemon8” was launched in Japan in 2020 before expanding to other markets such as the United States and Southeast Asia, and the application allows users to publish and display photos in groups through the “Follow -up and for You” tabulae, as well as creative editing tools such as filters, influences, stickers and text templates. Last November, the company added the ability to log in to Lemon8 via the accounts of Tik Talk, in addition to the feature of sharing content between the two applications, a step aimed at transferring users to the new platform smoothly in the event of the prohibition of the platform in the future in the United States of America.
