Engineer Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Musalmani, Chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and President-designate of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-26), chaired the meeting of the conference hosting committee during the period from 9 to 27 November at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. The committee includes representatives of a number of entities and institutions in the country, as part of the ongoing preparations to host this international event.
The conference is the highest policy-making body in the International Telecommunication Union, and is held once every four years, during which member states chart the general direction of the Union and the future of its work in the communications and information technology sector at the global level.
The meeting discussed organizational and logistical preparations, and follow-up and coordination of efforts between various concerned parties, ensuring the highest levels of readiness to host the conference and providing all requirements necessary for its success. The meeting comes as part of a series of joint efforts and coordination between the entities and institutions participating in the hosting committee.
