The draw for the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Cup qualifiers was drawn today, which resulted in exciting confrontations.
19 teams will participate in the qualifiers, divided into four groups, three groups of which include five teams, and one group consisting of four teams, to compete in a divided league system of one stage by grouping in one country, during the period from January 11 to 19, 2025.
The first group included Thailand (the host), facing Lebanon, Bahrain, Palestine and Iraq, while the second group included Indonesia (the host), Hong Kong, China, Pakistan, India and Kyrgyzstan.
On the other hand, the third group included the teams of Uzbekistan (the host), along with Turkmenistan, Australia, the Philippines, and Kuwait, while the fourth group consisted of four teams: Vietnam, China, Taipei, Macau, and Myanmar (the host).
Nine teams – Australia, India, Iraq, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Pakistan, Palestine and the Philippines – are seeking to qualify for the AFC Women’s Futsal Cup finals for the first time, noting that Iran won the title in the previous two editions (2015 and 2018).
Nine teams qualify for the finals (first and second in each group), along with the best third-placed team among all groups, joining host China, along with Iran and Japan, who finished first and second in the 2018 edition.
In the finals, the 12 participating teams will be divided into three groups, with each group containing four teams, and the top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals, along with the two best third-placed teams.
The top three finishers in the Women’s Futsal Asian Cup 2025 will guarantee their place in the inaugural Women’s Futsal World Cup finals, which will be hosted by the Philippines, which has automatically guaranteed its qualification for the world championship scheduled for the second half of 2025.
If the Philippines qualifies for the semifinals, the other three teams in this round will qualify for the 2025 Futsal Women’s World Cup finals. If they do not qualify, the two teams that qualified for the final will qualify for the World Cup, along with the winner of the third-place match. .
