Mr. Ali Al-Hamidi, Chairman of the Al-Tahadi Mafarid Festival, confirmed that the festival witnessed distinguished participation from Qatari owners and from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, noting the great success it achieved in its first edition.
Al-Hamidi said, in a press statement, that the Al-Mafarid Challenge Festival, the first Qatar Camel Racing Club festival for the 2024-2025 season, witnessed throughout its days excitement, excitement, and great surprises in most of the races, whether at the level of local or international races.
He added that the distinguished success of the festival confirms the important role played by the club in developing and advancing the sport of our fathers and grandfathers, as well as the interest of the participating owners in raising and acquiring the best breeds of horses, which was clearly evident through the strong competition in most of the rounds.
Al-Hamidi explained that he did not expect the large participation of owners from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the festival’s competitions this season, especially since it was being held for the first time, considering that the festival includes many advantages and valuable prizes in the various rounds.
Al-Hamidi congratulated all the owners who won the twentieth rounds of the festival, extending his thanks to all who contributed to the success of this event, from the owners and the participants, as well as the large audiences who were keen to follow the various rounds of the festival in a heritage carnival that confirms the Qataris’ love for the sport of their fathers and grandfathers, looking forward to more success whether In terms of organizing or participating in future festivals organized by the club.
The head of the Mafarid Challenge Festival thanked and appreciated the government institutions and sponsors who participated in the success of this heritage event that preserves the sport of fathers and grandfathers.
At the conclusion of his statement, he stressed that the Qatar Camel Racing Club will be preparing from now to organize the Al Wajbah Camel Festival for all categories, colors and ages (local runs), which the club has added to its agenda this season to stimulate the camel market, as its competitions will start during the period from the sixth to the thirteenth of November. Next, the competitions of the fourth edition of the Qatar Camel Festival, “Jazilat Al-Atta 2025,” are scheduled to be held during the period between January 30 and February 20.
It is worth noting that the Al-Mafarid Challenge Festival, in its first edition, received wide participation from local and Gulf camel owners and lovers, in the three categories designated for the festival (Al-Asayel, Al-Maghateer, and Al-Majahim).
