The Industry Sector Committee discusses the challenges facing the business environment in Qatar with representatives of the private sector

The Industry Sector Committee at the Ministry of Trade and Industry held a meeting with representatives of the private sector, to discuss the challenges facing the business environment in Qatar, its causes and potential impacts on the industrial sector.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Saleh Majid Al -Khulaifi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industry and Business Development and Chairman of the Industry Sector Committee, in the presence of members of the committee, and representatives of the Qatar Chamber.

A statement by the Ministry stated that the meeting witnessed a review of proposals submitted by manufacturers aimed at finding practical solutions that contribute to improving the business environment and enhancing industrial growth. The participants also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the governmental and private sectors, which contributes to overcoming the current challenges and achieving sustainable growth of the industrial sector.

It is noteworthy that the Industry Sector Committee at the Ministry of Trade and Industry was established in 2024 by a decision of His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Trade and Industry, headed by Mr. Saleh Majid Al -Khulaifi, and membership of representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Qatar General Authority for Standardization and Standardization, Qatar Energy, and the Authority Free Zones, Economic Zones Company, Qatar Development Bank, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The committee is concerned with holding periodic workshops and meetings with representatives of the private sector to discuss the challenges they face, their proposals, and to study these challenges and their causes and their impact on the business environment and the economy in general, with the aim of strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors, as well as ensuring transparency in the procedures approved to face these challenges And promoting confidence between all parties concerned, in addition to submitting suggestions and recommendations in light of the results of workshops and meetings, in line with the priorities of economic development and improving the business environment.
