The Palestinian Football Association sent a letter to Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, after the movement he made during the Catalan club’s celebrations with its fans, on Monday, for winning the Spanish Football League title following the victory over Real Madrid.
Artists in the Gaza Strip also erected a large artistic mural bearing the image of the young Spanish FC Barcelona star, Lamine Yamal, as an expression of thanks and appreciation for his positions that showed solidarity with the Palestinian cause and sparked widespread interaction in sports circles.
This initiative came after his appearance during FC Barcelona’s celebrations for the Spanish League title, where he waved the Palestinian flag during the coronation procession, in a shot that was widely spread among the fans.
The artists chose to implement the mural on the ruins of destroyed buildings in the Beach refugee camp in Gaza City, where they combined the player’s features with the colors of the Palestinian flag, in a scene that combines art and the difficult humanitarian reality that the Strip is experiencing.
