In his opening speech at the business meeting, Mr. Rashid bin Hamad Al-Athba, Second Vice President of the Qatar Chamber, said that the State of Qatar and the Republic of Algeria are linked by strong and distinguished fraternal relations, and recent years have witnessed a remarkable development in the cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields, especially economy, trade, industry, energy and technology, which reflects The firm desire to raise the level of cooperation and establish a strategic partnership.
He pointed out that the two countries have made great strides in raising the level of cooperation, through mutual visits and the signing of memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements, pointing out that trade exchange between the two countries has witnessed increasing growth in recent years, as the volume of trade between the two countries has doubled in three years to reach 297 million. Al-Athba said that despite this development, the volume of trade exchange is still below the level of aspirations, expressing his full conviction in the main role that the private sector can play in raising the level of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Athba called on the private sector in both countries to establish effective partnerships and alliances in various economic projects, stressing that the Qatar Chamber encourages all private sector activities to exploit investment opportunities in Algeria and to establish partnerships with Algerian business owners.
