The Qatari Businessmen Association has signed three memoranda of understanding and agreements, with an organization in the Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Council for Trade and Development, as well as the Federation of Chinese Industries in the Hong Kong region of the People’s Republic of China.
These notes, which were signed in the presence of His Excellency Mr. John Lee, CEO of the Hong Kong region of the People’s Republic of China, and His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Qasim Al Thani, President of the Qatari Businessmen Association, aim to enhance economic, commercial and investment cooperation between the two sides and facilitate investment operations in both directions.
After the signing of the memoranda of understanding, His Excellency the CEO of the Hong Kong region called on the members of the Qatari Businessmen Association to visit his country, indicating that companies in Hong Kong are looking to invest in vital sectors in Qatar that include infrastructure, information technology and financial technology “Ventec” and health and vital technology, in addition to that it includes a large number of successful entrepreneurs in these sectors.
His Excellency Mr. John Lee explained that he is looking to enhance economic and financial cooperation relations between the two sides, and to advance them to advanced ranks to meet the level of common ambitions, stressing that Qatar is a prominent commercial and financial center for business in the Middle East, and that Hong Kong is also a major business center in Asia where it has many offices to facilitate the benefit of companies and investors from the opportunities it provides.
For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Qasim Al Thani said that the Qatari companies have managed in recent years to turn into large companies in multiple fields and have proven this through their great success in implementing giant projects, whether at the local level through the successful organization of the World Cup Qatar 2022, or the external by participating in many projects in various continents.
The head of the Qatari Businessmen Association stated that the members of the association are aware of the great capabilities offered by the Hong Kong economy in the field of services and tourism, in addition to their openness to the largest global markets currently, including the Chinese market, especially since China is one of the largest commercial partners of the State of Qatar, which enhances joint cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal Al Thani, a member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Businessmen Association, said that the State of Qatar is working to shift towards the knowledge economy, which is one of the sectors on which the Hong Kong economy depends on such as financial services, artificial intelligence, logistical sector and tourism, which creates various opportunities for bilateral cooperation in these sectors, especially with the availability of tax and great legislative privileges that Qatar gives to foreign investors, indicating that The association will work with the bodies with which memoranda of understanding has been signed to identify economic sectors that are worked on in both countries between the Businessmen Association and their counterparts in Hong Kong in a way that enhances economic and commercial relations between the two sides.
