The second death of Ebola in Uganda

A 4 -year -old child died to become the second person to die as a result of the incidence of viral Ebola in Uganda, the World Health Organization announced on Saturday, in a setback for health officials who were hoping at a quick end to the spread of the disease that started at the end of January.

The child had undergone treatment at the main referral facility in Kampala, the country’s capital in East Africa, and died on Tuesday, according to the World Health Organization office in Uganda in a brief statement.

The statement added that the World Health Organization and other organizations are working to enhance monitoring and tracking contacts.

There was no more details about death and local officials did not comment on the matter.

This death is weakened by the assurances of Ugandan officials regarding the control of the outbreak of the disease after 8 patients were removed from the hospital later in February.

The nurse mentioned the first victim of the disease, who died on the day before the outbreak of the disease was previously announced last January.

He had requested treatment in several facilities in Kampala and East Uganda, where he also visited a traditional processor in his attempt to diagnose his illness, before he died in Kampala.
