The Sultanate of Oman won the first edition of the Jebel Sifah International Fishing Championship, the largest tournament of its kind in the Gulf region.
The Omani team “Top Water Tales” swept the tournament prizes with a total of four prizes and a total of points exceeding 778 points. The Kuwaiti Reel Addict team also won first place in the Biggest Fish Award by catching a yellowfin tuna with a huge weight of 65.35 kilograms, for fisherman Nasser Al-Fadala, while South Africa took third place in the Best Fisherman Award for the Sasacc team and fisherman Petrus Wessels by catching a marlin. The Sultanate of Oman hosted the first international edition under the umbrella of the International Game Fishing Association, as the first world championship in the Gulf region that witnessed the participation of 18 different teams representing ten countries, including Iran, Egypt, China and Italy.
