The West Asian Clubs Championship for Athletics Championship will start today from Al -Ahly Club, from April 7 to 10 on the field and track of the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium in Qatar Club, with the participation of 400 players from 22 teams representing 13 countries, which makes it one of the strongest regional athletics championships at the club level.
Competition will be the most severe in various races and competitions, as the teams seek to achieve the largest possible number of medals, and to prove their superiority in the regional athletics yard. The organizing committee of the tournament held a press conference last Wednesday, during which it revealed the details of the championship in addition to the participation of the Olympic champion Moataz Issa Barshim in the regional championship competitions, where the Golden Falcon for the Qatari forces will give the players section during the opening day of the tournament.
The organizing committee also announced that all the necessary field inspection tours for all championship facilities, including the track, field, referees rooms and doping examination rooms, to ensure their readiness according to the highest international standards to provide an ideal sporting experience.
For his part, Khaled Al -Suwaidi, the championship director, said that this version represents an opportunity to exchange experiences between athletes from different countries, which enhances technical friction and raises the level of performance, as it highlights the importance of investment in developing athletics, and enhances sports competition, which reflects positively on national players and national teams in the future.
He also pointed out that the inclusion of the championship within the agenda of the International Federation and its official classification at the level of “E” is a great achievement that reflects the quality of the organization, noting that this classification raises the position of the championship internationally, and provides an opportunity for clubs and athletes to compete in an event recognized by the World Federation, which increases the value of sports achievements. He continued: Praise be to God, we started preparations for this tournament 4 months ago, and we were able, in cooperation with all sides, to reach the best preparations and achieve the full success of the tournament.
