The Qatari team faces its Egyptian counterpart, tomorrow, Friday, in the semi -finals of the tenth Arab Cup for men’s handball teams currently held in the State of Kuwait and will continue until May 11, with the participation of 9 teams: Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Tunisia, Morocco, the Emirates and Bahrain.
The Qatari team qualified for the semi -finals after the second group in the group stage of two wins against the Saudi national team with a score of 31/21 and the Tunisian team with a score of 31/30, and in return the Egyptian team qualified as the best team to get second place after defeating the Iraqi team 39/39 and lost to the Bahraini team with a score of 32/36.
The other match for the semi -finals between the Kuwaiti and Bahraini teams will be gathered.
The Kuwaiti national team issued the third group from two wins on Morocco 39/29 and the UAE 32/24, and for its part, the Bahraini team topped the first group from two wins on Iraq 28/26 and Egypt 36/32.
It is noteworthy that the Egyptian team was crowned the Arab Cup for Men’s Handball Championships in the first two versions in 1975 and 1977, while he rotated to win the title of the following four copies of Kuwait in 1979, 1988 and Tunisia in 1986 and 1993, and the Saudi team won the championship title in 1998, then Algeria in the 2000th version, and the Bahraini team won the title of the last version in 2002.
