The Ministry of Communications has called on the owners of maritime media of all kinds to ensure that a valid registration certificate is available, the presence of clear numbers for the media, and the provision of marine security and safety equipment and tools to practice its work.
The Ministry stressed, through a notification through its official account with the “X” platform, that legal measures will be taken regarding the violation of these procedures and controls.
The ministry said that adhering to the necessary guidelines and procedures on marine flights contributes to achieving marine safety goals and protecting lives and property.
The Ministry had opened the marine media registration office in Doha Port, to provide registration and renewal services and transfer of ownership and the issuance of all certificates for small ships as part of its plans to enhance the services provided to the public in the maritime transport sector by expanding the external marine media registration offices, with the aim of bringing the services closer to the public and facilitating their access to them ». In addition to enhancing the integration of services in the port of Doha, which is considered the state’s maritime tourist interface and one of the most important tourist attractions in the maritime sector.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Communications is making all efforts to facilitate its services provided to the public, as it provides more than 28 electronic services for small and large ships, and work is underway to develop and automate all services for marine media, large ships, certificates and marine licenses, and facilitate procedures for all marine transactions and services provided to the public, ship owners and marine companies,
The Ministry of Communications is providing marine media registration offices in Al -Khor and Al -Ruwais, in addition to the main office at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The Maritime Transport Sector at the Ministry of Communications seeks to update and develop the maritime transport sector in a way that keeps pace with the accelerated international maritime developments through the creative application of international maritime covenants and follow -up of what is beingg on them, within the framework of the strategic plan of the ministry that aims to ensure a safe marine navigation and all the conditions of marine safety. In addition, the maritime transport sector develops the legal framework regulating marine works, and enhancing technical and administrative work in the areas of inspection, inspection, control, investigation of accidents, and others.
The maritime transport sector places its top priorities to ensure the quality of services and means of maritime transport by spreading a culture of quality, raising awareness of the best international standards and practices, and developing the system of supplementary inspection procedures for ships in order to ensure that all ships are compatible with international requirements for safe safety and sailing conditions.
Within the framework of the efforts made by the sector to achieve its strategic goals in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, the maritime transport sector is keen to coordinate with the International Maritime Organization and follow up on the agreements and publications published about it, and to express flexibility in conducting continuous reviews of national legislation to match the relevant international legislation in a manner that serves the vision and interests of the State of Qatar. Moreover, the maritime transport sector works to extend bridges of cooperation with the various authorities concerned with the specialties of maritime transport and involve them in international meetings and workshops.
