Türkiye’s exports to African countries increased by 12.6 percent year-on-year during the first seven months of the year, reaching $13.3 billion.
Osman Aksoy, Chairman of the Turkish-African Business Councils Coordination Council at the Foreign Economic Relations Council of Turkey, said that Turkish exports to the continent increased last July by 16.3 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching $2.3 billion.
Egypt topped African markets importing from Türkiye during July, after exports to it rose 49.3 percent year-on-year, reaching $426.2 million.
During the period from January to July, Türkiye’s exports to Egypt increased by 26.1 percent, exceeding $2.3 billion.
Nigeria recorded the highest growth among major African markets, with Turkish exports to it rising by 52.1 percent during the first seven months to $453.2 million. During last July, Turkey’s exports to Nigeria rose by 7.5 percent, recording $60.2 million.
Exports to South Africa also increased by 31.3 percent during the first seven months of the year, reaching $479 million. Libya also emerged among the main markets, as Turkish exports to it amounted to $1.59 billion during the first seven months, an increase of 2.3 percent.
In Tunisia, Turkish exports exceeded $720 million from January to July of this year, an increase of 9.9 percent, while in July alone they reached $101 million, an increase of 0.3 percent.
As for Niger, Turkish exports to it recorded a remarkable growth of 80.5 percent in July to 255 million dollars, while they rose 8 percent during the first seven months, exceeding 302 million dollars.
