The American newspaper, The Wall Street Journal, said that the next few days will witness meetings of the Monetary Policy Committee to determine interest rates in major central banks in North America, Europe and Asia, as its results are expected to be at the forefront of interest in economic circles.
The newspaper explained that the interest rate decision that the Federal Reserve (the US central bank) will take at its meeting on July 30 and 31 is expected to attract great attention, as is the decision of the Bank of Japan’s monetary policy meeting expected on the same two days. The focus is also on the United Kingdom, which will witness a meeting of the Bank of England on August 1 to determine whether this bank will begin to cut interest rates.
She noted that the monthly US jobs data for July, which is due after the monetary policy meeting decision, will also be of interest because it may pave the way for a cut in interest rates at the monetary policy meeting next September.
The newspaper pointed out that inflation data in the United States came in line with expectations.
