A team of researchers in the United States has found a relationship between drinking alcohol, sweetened drinks and hair loss, while eating healthy amounts of iron and vitamin D is linked to healthy hair growth.

These results are not surprising, given that “the nutrients play a major role in hair growth or hair loss.”

“This study helps in drawing a clearer image of the important nutrients for healthy hair growth,” she added in statements to the website “Health”, which specializes in medical research.

In the context of the study, the researchers examined 17 scientific studies from around the world, which included 61,332 people between the ages of 7 and 77, and 97% of the study participants were women.

The researchers believe that the role of alcohol and sweetened drinks in hair loss can be interpreted in theory due to a slight, which is that these substances contradict the body’s ability to absorb the nutrients needed to maintain the health of the hair.

The researcher Zombano stated that “the most likely reason for hair loss and eating sweetened drinks and alcohol is the role that these substances play for intestinal microbium, and by this means microbes that live naturally within the digestive system of humans, as well as to absorb nutrients, meaning that those who consume these drinks may consume less food.”

On the other hand, the researcher stressed the importance of vitamin D and iron with regard to hair growth, and said that vitamin D “is necessary to form cells that turn into hair follicles”, while iron helps in connecting oxygen to these follicles.
