Hamad International Airport recorded a stable performance during the first half of 2025, stressing the hardness of its operational operations with the flexibility in adapting to changes, and this performance was supported by the high rates of direct travel to Doha by 2.3% in the period between January and June 2025, while the total travel movement maintained its stability and was only minor changes compared to the same period last year.
Hamad International Airport provided its services to a total of 25.9 million passengers, 1.2 million tons of goods, and more than 136,000 flights in the first half of this year, and this data comes in line with operational trends in the region and indicating the significant increase in the movement of passengers to Doha and its growing attractiveness as a leading destination in entertainment and business tourism.
While Hamad International Airport maintained the stability of its numbers, the airport continued its focus on upgrading the quality of the travel experiences it provides to its passengers. The most recent expansion in the airport is an essential component in this, as it included the opening of the Concourse D and E regions, which contributed to increasing the number of bridges of the plane by 40% through 17 new gates equipped with self -rise systems. Where these updates contributed to reducing the use of buses (buses) to and from aircraft, equivalent to 350,000 flights, and making passengers more smooth by moving directly from the passenger building and then to the plane. The travelers building meets totalitarian standards in all parts, adding many advantages, including providing audiovisual devices, obstacles -free corridors, wide seating areas, private assistance services and corridors for families and electronic gates for disabled travelers, which supports a smoother and inclusive travel experience.
In the context of his endeavor to enhance the distinctive atmosphere in the internal “Orthard” park, the airport launched a group of permanent artworks under the title “Wonders of Wildlife”, which is a group of distinctive interactive artistic sculptures of famous artists Jelly and Mark, which gives passengers an opportunity to communicate with nature and realize the importance of protecting wildlife.
With the launch of “Virgin Australia” flights in June, and the increase in the number of Filipino Airlines and the new destinations launched by Qatar Airways, it is expected that the airport will witness a rise in performance during the second half of the year, which enhances the connection and communication options and supports the position of Hamad International Airport as a strategic axis of global aviation.
