In the context of a joint effort aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable shopping practices, Al Meera Consumer Materials Company cooperated with Al Rayyan Bank and in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change as part of its social responsibility program, to celebrate the International Day to reduce the use of plastic bags by launching a state level that urges customers to move to the use of environmentally friendly shopping bags under the slogan “I am not made of Plastic ».

This campaign was launched last Thursday, corresponding to the International Day to reduce the use of plastic bags, which falls on July 3 of each year, as it witnessed the disclosure of a limited version of shopping bags that can be reusable in the various branches of Al -Mira to contribute to directing community members towards the use of environmentally friendly shopping bags instead of plastic bags, to reduce the volume of waste. The design of these bags was taken into account to be a sustainable and modern alternative, as well as being an expression of collective commitment to reduce the negative effects of plastic pollution in the State of Qatar.
Also, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change organized an awareness event in the Mansoura branch, with the aim of educating the public and enhancing awareness of the importance of adopting environmentally friendly customs in daily life. The customers also had the opportunity to participate in a fun competition to win the purchasing vouchers provided by Al -Meera, with a total value of 5000 Qatari riyals
Al -Mira said in a statement: “In recognition that combating plastic pollution is a shared responsibility that should be treated together as institutions and individuals, we take actual steps to enable customers to participate in building a more sustainable future by following environmentally friendly practices that add added value to the shopping experience, and providing environmentally friendly alternatives and enhancing our sustainable initiatives, such as spreading machinery recycling machines and metal cans In our branches, all thanks and gratitude to Al Rayyan Bank for his support and cooperation with us in implementing this important initiative.
