In a scene that reflects the worsening humanitarian tragedy, the people of the Gaza Strip continue to face the threat of starvation after more than 140 days have passed since the complete closure of the crossings.
With the continued prevention of the entry of humanitarian aid, food and medical materials, warnings continue to enter the sector of the collective starvation, amid continuous international silence.

According to the data of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, more than 900 people were killed and about 6,000 others were injured while they were attempts to obtain food or search for a living in extremely cruel conditions.

The ministry confirmed that at least 71 children lost their lives due to hunger and malnutrition, at a time when the number of those who face the risk of hunger in the sector exceeds two million people.

Today, Saturday witnessed the martyrdom of 63 people and the injury of dozens of aid applicants, according to the government media office in Gaza, in a clear continuation of the policy of direct targeting of civilians.

The office also warned that the sector has become “on the threshold of collective death” due to the continued siege and the prevention of supplies, noting that the occupation continues to use starvation as a collective weapon.

The prevention of the entry of medicines and medical supplies has led to a complete collapse of the health system in the sector, in light of the inability of hospitals to provide the minimum care for patients and injured.

The Ministry of Health says that this collapse exacerbates the numbers of victims, especially in light of the high levels of acute malnutrition, especially in children and infants.

While international organizations warn of a widespread humanitarian catastrophe, relief aid is still stacked at closed crossings, without permission to enter.

According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), large quantities of ready -made foodstuffs are still in its stores in the Egyptian city of Al -Arish, without allowing it to enter the needy in the besieged sector.

Despite repeated appeals, the international powers did not move in front of what human rights organizations describe as a “war crime committed at the sight of the world”, amid a clear use of the starvation of the population as a tool of collective punishment, in a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

In light of these conditions, popular and official demands escalate the need for urgent action to break the siege, open the crossings and allow relief to enter, in a recent attempt to stop a comprehensive collapse that threatens the lives of millions of isolation civilians in the Gaza Strip.
