“Civil Aviation”: Implementing the Qatari initiative to shorten air roads with the “Egyptian field”

The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the launch of the second phase of the implementation of the Qatari initiative to shorten the air roads in the Egyptian airspace, after the completion of the first stage of it successfully. This came during a press conference held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The delegation of the General Authority of Civil Aviation of the State of Qatar, during this event, was chaired by Mr. Mohammed bin Falih Al -Hajri in charge of conducting the work of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Tariq Ali Faraj Al -Ansari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the permanent representative of the state to the League of Arab States. On the Egyptian side, His Excellency Dr. Sameh El -Hafni, Minister of Civil Aviation in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and His Excellency the Pilot Amr Al -Sharqawi, President of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. This is in addition to the presence of His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Abu Bakr Farea, Director of the Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for the Middle East region, and Mr. Mohamed Lotfy, the regional director of the North Africa region of the International Air Transport Federation (IATA).
This initiative comes within a series of pioneering efforts led by the State of Qatar in order to update the structure of air navigation regionally and globally, in line with the sustainable development plans and the national vision of the State of Qatar.

The shortcomings of trips
The first phase of the initiative included the Air Navigation Department at the General Authority of Civil Aviation trained 35 Egyptian air controls on the parallel takeoff and landing system, while the second stage will include the partial re -planning of the Egyptian air field and the amendment of some tracks in the Cairo region of aviation information in order to reduce the time of passing flights, according to a proposal prepared by a team from the authority and the national carrier of the State of Qatar. This is in addition to completing the training of Egyptian air observers on the Free Aviation System (FRA), which contributes to shortening the time of flights and increasing the capacity in the airspace.
This initiative aims to enhance the activity of the State of Qatar in the areas of air transport and environmental sustainability, and to highlight its contribution to improving and developing global air navigation. This project will also be the nucleus of launching similar projects in Africa, India and Southeast Asia, to shorten air roads, and contribute to achieving a large economic provision for airlines.

Development of the civil aviation sector
During his speech during the conference, Mr. Mohammed bin Faleh Al -Hajri explained that this initiative is one of the qualitative initiatives, which confirms the firm commitment to the State of Qatar to develop the civil aviation sector and enhance regional and international cooperation in this vital field. He added: «The initiative to shorten air roads in Egyptian airspace came the fruit of fruitful and constructive cooperation between the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the State of Qatar and the civil aviation authority in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, with the aim of improving the efficiency of air traffic, alleviating congestion, and reducing the time of flights, in order to achieve concrete economic and environmental benefits. It also embodies the vision of the State of Qatar to be an active partner in efforts to develop air navigation systems at the international level, and confirms our commitment to achieving sustainability in the air transport industry, and contributing to reducing carbon emissions, in line with and in line with the priorities and goals of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) ».

A smoother travel experience
He also indicated during the speech to the impact of this positive initiative on travelers and airlines through its role in reducing the time of flights, and providing a smoother and efficient travel experience and reducing waiting and delaying periods, in a way that contributes to enhancing the quality of services and increasing the traveler’s satisfaction.
In conclusion, he thanked the Civil Aviation Authority in the Arab Republic of Egypt for its constructive cooperation and rapid response, and its common concern for the success of this qualitative initiative, which reflects the depth of the brotherly relationship, and embodies a real will to achieve integration in the field of civil aviation in several areas. He also stressed the continuation of the General Authority of Civil Aviation to work on similar initiatives with a number of regional and international partners, in order to ensure the safety and efficiency of air navigation in major transit areas around the world, and to enhance Qatar’s position as a global civil aviation center.
