Obesity increased between elderly women in Uganda, and has become one of the most common diseases of death according to official statistics and data.
A quarter of a century ago, the percentage of obesity Ugandan women did not exceed 4%, but this percentage doubled more than twice to 10.4% in 2019, according to the latest data issued by the World Nutrition Report, which monitors the state of nutrition in the world.
As for male health condition compared to females, the percentage of obesity among Ugandan men increased to only 2.3% in recent periods.

Weekly sports clubs are a low -cost model to support elderly societies in Africa, with obesity among women who are 17%, compared to 6.8% among men.
Obesity deaths have increased in Uganda during the past years, as deaths due to non -infectious diseases in 2026 constituted two thirds of death compared to 2000.
