Mr. Jassim Ibrahim Al -Mansoori, Secretary General of the Qatar Weightlifting Federation, a member of the Development and Education Committee of the International Federation, confirmed that the participation of Fares Ibrahim in the 2025 World Championship represents a precise and strategic transitional stage in the player’s march in light of the fundamental amendments approved by the International Federation of the game to the weighted groups.

He pointed out that the decision to move to the 94 kg category was not improvised or merely a reaction to the abolition of the weight of 102 kg, but rather came after an accurate technical and physical study of the capabilities and its capabilities, in cooperation with his technical team led by coach Ibrahim Hassouna.

Al -Mansouri explained that Faris Ibrahim has a physical structure closer to the 94 kg category, compared to the 110 kg category, which represented the other choice after canceling the 102 kg category, indicating that competition in the new weight will be very strong, in light of the presence of two quarters of long experience in this category. He emphasized the great confidence in the ability of Fares Ibrahim to cope quickly and impose himself as a strong competitor.

He pointed out that the Fulda Championship represents an important test station on the way to preparing for the Los Angeles Olympics 2028, and is considered a real platform for assessing the technical and tactical performance of Faris Ibrahim in the new category, as well as monitoring the differences with the rest of the competitors, and building a long -term development plan that guarantees its full readiness for the upcoming entitlements, led by the qualifiers of the Olympic Games that will start in China during the month of November 2026 and complete in Doha In December of the same year.
