The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip – Khamis – announced that the systematic Israeli starvation caused the death of 8 people with Gilan Barre syndrome.
The Director General of the Ministry, Munir Al -Barash, with a post on the X platform: In light of the famine announced by the United Nations, in the past weeks, cases of “Gilan Barre syndrome” (GBS) has increased in the past weeks, so that dozens of people need industrial breathing devices to survive, “said the Director General of the Ministry, Munir Al -Barash, with a post on the X platform.
He pointed out that 8 deaths were recorded in the disease, which constitute 10.6% of the patients with the sector, while the rest faces the risk of death slowly and silently.
He explained that water pollution, lack of food, and malnutrition resulting from the Israeli starvation policy, and the absence of basic treatments such as immunoglobulin and plasma separation, contributed to the exacerbation of injuries, as dozens needed artificial respirators to survive.
Gilan Barre syndrome is a rare disease that begins with weakness in the lower extremities, then ascends to the central nervous system and may include breathing nerves.
These developments coincide with the continued crime of systematic Israeli starvation and malnutrition among the children of Gaza, which weakens their immunity and increases the risk of rare diseases under the extermination of Tel Aviv against the Palestinians.
Al -Barash said: In Gaza, the disease no longer chooses its victims, but rather the whole land has become a fertile environment for pain.
He continued: contaminated water, rare food, and malnutrition, all turned into invisible enemies that precede the missiles, and the souls are silently harvested.
A human call
Al -Barash launched a humanitarian call to save the lives of patients in Gaza, and said that their rescue is not in statements, but rather by entering urgent treatment, and preventing a new death added to the record of starvation and bombing.
Gaza hospitals suffer from a severe shortage of medicines and supplies, and a near -complete collapse in their diagnostic and treatment capabilities.
Since last March 2, Israel closes all the crossings leading to Gaza, preventing the entry of any humanitarian aid, which has entered the sector in a state of famine despite the accumulation of relief trucks on its borders, and allows the entry of limited quantities that do not meet the minimum needs of the Palestinians.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the high death toll from the Israeli starvation policy to 313 Palestinians, including 119 children since October 7, 2023.
The sector continues to record deaths due to malnutrition, despite the permission of Israel about a month ago, to enter scarce and limited trucks of goods and humanitarian aid, which are mostly stolen from gangs that have Israeli protection.
The government media office in Gaza stated, in a statement on Tuesday, that the total trucks that entered the Gaza Strip for (30 days) reached only 2654 aid trucks out of the supposed amount of 18,000 aid trucks.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha), Olga Chevco, warned that starvation in the Gaza Strip has begun to exacerbate at an accelerated pace due to the continued siege and Israeli starvation.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders to the International Court of Justice to stop it.
The extermination left 62,895 martyrs, 158,927 injured Palestinians, most of them children and women, more than 9,000 missing, hundreds of thousands of displaced people, and famine that killed 313 Palestinians, including 119 children until Wednesday.
