Al -Kharji also touched on the vital role that the tourism sector has played in the State of Qatar and its contribution to economic diversification, pointing out that the tourism sector contributed 55 billion riyals in the state’s gross domestic product during the year 2024, equivalent to 8 percent of the total economic product, an increase of 14 percent over the indicators of the year 2023.
The President of Qatar for Tourism and Chairman of the Visit QATAR Board of Directors stressed that the State of Qatar has proven that its tourism and cultural activities do not stop in front of the challenges, but rather continues as a vibrant destination that embraces major events and provides exceptional experiences throughout the year, pointing to the inclusion of more events in succession during the coming period to meet the interests of all groups and cover various areas of culture, sports and entertainment.
